it is recommendable to go to Vitra Design Museum in Summer, the 20 minutes walking distance from the train stattion must be more bearable in summer than in winter .... it's not a station actually just a little stopover point .... and you can pick many fresh cherries fresh from the tree .... the museum itself is kinda tiny better not expect that much. All pictures above are from their five story showroom building, a pretty enchanting architecture-baby from Herzog de Meuron.

5th week

this is my fifth week in my new flat, and all things are almost settled down .... one box left to be wholly unpacked .... the walls are still empty (as if empty walls are something harmful) ..... the wall rack are finally hanging above my desk and also above the dressing-up mirror (thanking Y and his electric drill machine, I'm helpless without them) Really love the fact that my bedroom is 18 square meters .... I feels like inviting my girls to do some pajamas party every time girls-only time is needed. I just ordered a rug online (picture above) .... and soon gonna order a beanbag online, ah decorating my own sanctuary always makes me feel content (and the happiness kinda disappear when I check my bank account) A shoe rack supposed to come soon (omg how to not love Amazon) .... gonna add some pretty flowers and I guess I'm done with all the decoration thingy.

I had anyway a very nice nye celebration, simply a hilarious night ...
Have a nice Monday y'all.

ps : school is getting tense, I need to invest more time for school, sigh.

time-out and re-decor

since last month or so my daily life was controlled by my agenda, moving my ass from one place to another .... put my study on the top priority .... simply trying to be a perfectionist (but not the bitchy and skinny one, the nice one) Today is the first day after more than one month that my agenda is empty, yeah baby nothing to execute .... I cooked lunch and took a nap .... took shower around 5 pm and slowly doing some unimportant things. Taking a break never feels this good before.

pictures :
kinda re-decorating my room
new baby from urban outifitters, tea set
bday gift flower and the yellow one is from ikea
finally cuddling around with those fluffy blankets
new paper lampion (room re-decor) and pale like a cheese toes
weekly schedule that forces me to be in a relationship with headache

went to IKEA today with F .... she just moved into new apartment (less than 10 mins walking distance from my place, perfect!!) .... so she need many IKEA thingy supply, meanwhile I feel the need to buy unimportant things to decorate my place. I ended up with 3 fake plants (they looks so real) .... 1 real plant with yellow vase ..... tea pot .... cover for my blanket .... a set of storage box .... and coffee pads for Philips Senseo (please blame IKEA for offering household-unrelated items) Last Saturday in Strasbourg I also bought a plastic table cloth. And now this is how our living room looks like ....

say hello to Kenzie my nephew. I miss this little creature I want to meet him so bad. Turn out that missing someone that you've never met before is possible! Have a lalala weekend everyone.

Retro Retter

Retro style definition "a culturally outdated or aged style, trend, mode, or fashion, from the overall postmodern past, but have since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. The use of "retro" style iconography and imagery interjected into post-modern art, advertising, mass media, etc. has occurred from around the time of the industrial revolution to present day" from Wikipedia.

Visit to Weißenhofsiedlung last week makes me in love (again) with Retro style. Interior style I've seen lately is either affordable IKEA style or modern style with unaffordable pieces. IKEA style is sooo mainstream that it somehow doesn't give you homy feeling anymore, it gives you ..... well ..... only IKEA feeling (my apologies Ingvar Kamprad :) And the modern style ..... Le Corbusier-wannabe-leather-sofa for example.... well it's ellegant and classy and look so excellent .... but sometimes it's just too clean it left nothing but empty feeling. Lack of homy atmosphere.

The point is? Need to save more money so I'll be able to afford to have my own place and decorate it with cozy dull yet timeless Retro style .... in the meantime restyling our tiny family apartment in Jakarta would be a good idea.

ps : changed the blog title into La Vida Diaria... it means everyday life.

ordinary weekend

summer work in my old internship office will start tomorrow, and I'm kinda thrilled. It's been ages since the last time I draw something architectural. Wish me best of luck, would you? Weekend has been so nice to me ... yesterday we play soccer in the campus (kind of regular activity with Indonesian folks) and cooked salmon spaghetti carbonara for dinner in my flat (D cooked actually, while I cut R's hair)

this morning I wake up with guilty feeling (after two pieces of heavy chocolate cake last night) .... and decided to burn out some calories with household chores. Our kitchen have a new clean slate now! ;)

ps. my friend from Detmold will come next weekend, happiness!

it's like forgetting the words to your favorite song

you can't believe it, you were always singing along
it was so easy and the words so sweet
you can't remember, you try to feel the beat

you spent half of your life trying to fall behind
you're using your headphones to drown out your mind
it was so easy, and the words so sweet, you can't remember
you try to move your feet

tapas and treadmill

I turned 24 two days ago .... the number really freaks me out. Oh my I'm twenty four ..... twenty four boy! My biggest wish would be finish to my study and being able to stand on my own feet. Since booth wishes are impossible for now , I better keep running constantly in this "treadmill machine" ..... prepare myself for the real life marathon.

ps. pictures above are from a restaurant in Sevilla (xmas holiday 2009) ... we only had casual Tapas, but I love how pretty the dinnerware were.

bedroom mood

yesterday the snow came again along with a mini wind storm. I went to to IKEA with a friend to freshen up our mind. I urgently need a curtain for my bedroom window ...... but I didn't find the suitable one ....... then I ended up standing in front of cashier with a flower motives bed cover, a wall clock and a table lamp. I reached home before dusk then spending a quiet Saturday night with warm tea and yahoo messenger ...... and did some watercolor painting before cuddling with the blanket.

On Tue and Wed comes the middle grade test. Wish me luck, toi toi toi.

I feel like transforming my bedroom from crisp white to baby pink, but I actually live in a shared apartment for boys - so it's NOT possible baby (why I live here again? cheap rent) This weekend I'll just rest at home ........ or not ...... maybe I'll take a walk and hunt for a poster or two........ or not, I forgot I have an appointment to make an architecture model ...... ugh. Until then.

shoes and paycheck

i received my first pay check last week from this cleaning-work (happy happy yayaya)....... and then I bought a desk from Ebay ....... and still searching like crazy where I could buy a good-quality 140x200 spring bed for under 100 Euro (God, show me ur way) But slow but sure I have all the things I need, huh ..... move in to an empty apartment room without any single furniture is not easy. So far this is fun - hunting here and there for cheap furniture and room decorations .....

Winter are getting serious. I seriously wear a socks 24 hours a day - except when I'm taking a shower. Is it just me or is it really that cold? (or this old heater in my bedroom is really a garbage?) I treated my feet with something nice today ...... a real winter shoes, with waterproof leather, cozy warm wool inside, and anti slip soles. It's on sale and really robust as an outdoor shoes ..... but the bad news is, wearing those I look like a Dora ready to explore the jungle. Hihi it's always minus here, it's permitted to look ugly as long as you have a warm feet!

noddie, upi, and others who may read this ..... here comes some pictures from the apartment, my so-called-home for the next couple years (hope not too long!) I shared the apartment with 2 german guy and 1 german girl. Nothing special about this apartment, just an old building, but located in a very strategic location. I fell in love at the first sight with this flat. One more thing we have in common : hmmm we all take a bath in the kitchen ..... literally ...... no kidding ....

the colorful kitchen desk

welcome to student-life (cheap apartment) .... shower in the kitchen!

the toilet door

access to the attic (tempat jemur baju hihi)

mini living room with grafiti and no TV

i can't get enough of pink and baby blue lately

even the toaster is "dressed up"

another cozy corner lol

Yesterday I receive a package from Indonesia, I asked my Mother to send me my sneakers ..... happy. Hufff, I miss my parents and my brothers so bad. And also my sis in law - who went under the knife yesterday (appendix) ..... get well soon.
