5th week
I'm on my 5th week of my six months full time internship.... everything is cool except the fact that working eight hours a day is really a new thing for me and I'm still trying to adjust into it. I'll be home during Xmas and New Year and I'm thinking about it almost every day.... so freakin' happy to be coming home..... I'm missing my root.
dslr nap

only took poor quality pictures with my cellphone lately .... lack of proper pictures taken by dslr camera .... above are 'leftover' from Milan Design Week (mid April 2011) .... me won't leave this town this month (hello summer job) .... and probably in September the dslr camera will breathe some fresh air again.
ps : the last pic - the guy with asics shoes, I'm usually not really into matchy-matchy-rules ... but his outfit is simply okay.
lisbooooaaa

beside the fact that the Gipsy in Lisboa are like aggressive hyenas pickpocketing from tourist , I like Lisboa .... it's not beautifully beautiful .... the city has it owns indescribable character ..... between rustic and old ...... yet pastel facades and and feminine flower motives tiles are everywhere.
That's it - all the spring travel series.
Now : UNIVEERRRRSSHHHITTTYY! ;)
the spain capital
were in Madrid around last month and spent 3 sunny days there. I like Madrid, I should say. Architecture in Madrid is somehow adorable .... the building scale .... the golden ratio windows all over the town (not only on the old building, the new buildings also religiously keep the golden section ratio) .... and also their Zapateria (shoe store it is, haha)
I've explored Andalucia region and been to Madrid yet still haven't seen Barcelona. It's just exactly like saving the best for the last, right?
turkey trip (photo) journal 1
due to my laziness here I am posting about my trip to Turkey
which was one month ago haha
day 1, took ferry from Asian side to European side
just walking around and took pics and observed the surroundings

back to my (couchsurfing) host's flat and took night bus to Izmir
day 2 arrived early in Izmir, checked in in random affordable hotel
another day as a tourist, took pics and walked around and round

day 3 took bus to Ephesus via Kusadasi and saw magnificent ancient ruins there

pardon my randomness, but oh I really wish I have a real travel partner
more pictures (and only a few sentences as usual) are coming
enjoy April everyone

what you've been doing lately?
happy holiday, anyway.
deal with it
the faces I knew, with strange sentience
the places I knew, with different atmosphere
fortunately a hug feels exactly the same as ever
yet things couldn't be better and weirder than this

The dirty yet enchanting capital
Paris is always magnificent for me, no matter that some people say Paris is an overrated destination .... or that it's not as beautiful as reviewed in many travel blogs or magazines. Well okay I have to admit that Paris underground is completely blah. Changing from one to another metro line requires effort, like real effort .... 5 minutes walking or so in some stations. It's not clean down there ... and confusing .... and absence of elevators is not a good idea for travelers with heavy luggage.

We were there for 3 nights, many many thanks to S who let us stay at her cozy place. F is one of my college besties .... and she's having 7 weeks summer holiday in Spain .... so we decided to meet up in France's capital. On the first day we walked by foot like crazy. The route was from Arch de Triomphe down to Musee de Louvre .... and continued to Notre Dame (the part walking next to the Seine is what I love the most) The sky was extremely blue that day .... but the temperature almost killed me (fasting month it is) We had free dinner in Indonesian Embassy that night and closed the day with Eiffel Tower. The highlight from our first day is our craziness in Disney Store .... we feels like splurging euros on childish Disney's merchandise (which we did haha!)
Second day, I didn't went out at all .... I even wore my pajamas ... feeling fuzzy and lazy all day long. Meanwhile F went to Disneyland alone .... a visit to Disneyland while I have to fast until 21.00 is somehow no fun .... though I feel bad being such a bad companion. Last day was rush because not much time left. The result : Eiffel Tower (again) in gloomy rainy weather .... Basilika Sacré-Cœur .... and Cité des Sciences et de l'industrie (for the sake of Bernard Tschumi's Building)
All in all I had a lovely time in Paris ... sincere thanks to S for having me and F at her place .... and fed us with her delicious cookings .... danke vielmalsssss .... also thanks to the ITB folks for the free guided tour on Saturday.

ps : I coincidentally met a girl in Indonesian Embassy .... and she recognized me as her senior in Junior High School back then. Wow it was like 10 years ago .... funny how she could still identify my face after about a decade .... in fact that we don't know each other and never met ever since.
ordinary weekend

summer work in my old internship office will start tomorrow, and I'm kinda thrilled. It's been ages since the last time I draw something architectural. Wish me best of luck, would you? Weekend has been so nice to me ... yesterday we play soccer in the campus (kind of regular activity with Indonesian folks) and cooked salmon spaghetti carbonara for dinner in my flat (D cooked actually, while I cut R's hair)
this morning I wake up with guilty feeling (after two pieces of heavy chocolate cake last night) .... and decided to burn out some calories with household chores. Our kitchen have a new clean slate now! ;)
ps. my friend from Detmold will come next weekend, happiness!
