in Paris right now, forgetting the fact that I have deadline for my studio in 3 weeks .... savoring every single second of my stay here (contributing chaos in my friend homey studio) .... by savoring I mean waking up late .... adoring Paris from her tiny balcony on the 6th floor ..... scrolling along infamous street .... considering what should we get for dinner every afternoon (is it gonna be a bucket of fast food chicken? or instant asian noodle? or something with more sense like a bowl of salad?) ..... and again, erasing the studio deadline from my mind is the main part of savoring Paris.

ps : picture from last month, breakfast for one on laid back Saturday morning.

Many new things lately, new flat and new part time job .... both makes me of course happy. The new room are somehow still hippie, boxes everywhere .... luggages here and there. The new job are fortunately not hippie, it is very okay. Pretty Paris, I'll see you in 10 days!

The dirty yet enchanting capital

Paris is always magnificent for me, no matter that some people say Paris is an overrated destination .... or that it's not as beautiful as reviewed in many travel blogs or magazines. Well okay I have to admit that Paris underground is completely blah. Changing from one to another metro line requires effort, like real effort .... 5 minutes walking or so in some stations. It's not clean down there ... and confusing .... and absence of elevators is not a good idea for travelers with heavy luggage.

We were there for 3 nights, many many thanks to S who let us stay at her cozy place. F is one of my college besties .... and she's having 7 weeks summer holiday in Spain .... so we decided to meet up in France's capital. On the first day we walked by foot like crazy. The route was from Arch de Triomphe down to Musee de Louvre .... and continued to Notre Dame (the part walking next to the Seine is what I love the most) The sky was extremely blue that day .... but the temperature almost killed me (fasting month it is) We had free dinner in Indonesian Embassy that night and closed the day with Eiffel Tower. The highlight from our first day is our craziness in Disney Store .... we feels like splurging euros on childish Disney's merchandise (which we did haha!)

Second day, I didn't went out at all .... I even wore my pajamas ... feeling fuzzy and lazy all day long. Meanwhile F went to Disneyland alone .... a visit to Disneyland while I have to fast until 21.00 is somehow no fun .... though I feel bad being such a bad companion. Last day was rush because not much time left. The result : Eiffel Tower (again) in gloomy rainy weather .... Basilika Sacré-Cœur .... and Cité des Sciences et de l'industrie (for the sake of Bernard Tschumi's Building)

All in all I had a lovely time in Paris ... sincere thanks to S for having me and F at her place .... and fed us with her delicious cookings .... danke vielmalsssss .... also thanks to the ITB folks for the free guided tour on Saturday.

ps : I coincidentally met a girl in Indonesian Embassy .... and she recognized me as her senior in Junior High School back then. Wow it was like 10 years ago .... funny how she could still identify my face after about a decade .... in fact that we don't know each other and never met ever since.

I pranced around Strasbourg on Saturday, fed myself with onion soup and risoles and enjoyed french rustic atmosphere in la petite France district. Now I know why Ms. Principia are always into France.
